Enrollment Information

Dear Prospective Family:

Thank you for taking this opportunity to learn more about Guilford Preparatory Academy.  On behalf of our faculty and staff, I want you to know that we believe it is truly a privilege to serve every child admitted to our school.

We are a tuition free, public charter school offering a rigorous curriculum that prepares our students for college and the global marketplace.  Our small K-8 school offers more individualized instruction for students at both the elementary and middle school levels.  We take pride in the fact that our “family” atmosphere caters to the students and gives parents the assurance that their child will be more than just a face in the crowd.  We have a diverse population of students and staff, which makes our school a fertile learning ground and gives our students the opportunity to see global learning at its best.  We are confident that students who leave our school will be fully capable of competing successfully in high school, college and beyond.

As you explore the many experiences that Guilford Preparatory Academy offers our students and families, please be assured that our office is here to help in any way we can.  We hope you will schedule a visit to our campus and let Guilford Preparatory Academy speak for itself.  As you walk our halls and peer into our classrooms, you will see that we truly cherish learning.

Thank you for your interest in Guilford Preparatory Academy.  We look forward to meeting you and your family.

Lottery Policy

All students at GPA are admitted by lottery.  After all applications for admission are complete, student’s names will be placed in the lottery.  At an Open Session Board Meeting, the names are pulled one at a time until all vacancies at each grade level are filled.  All students receive an equal opportunity to be admitted.  If there are more students than we have vacancies, those students will be placed on a waiting list.  If a seat becomes available, those students on the waiting list will be called.
